About this Event
Come join us for the official launch event of the Lemonade Stand poetry chapbook! The Lemonade Stand is a participatory arts project engaging the public in typewriter poetry that took place in Somerville over the course of the summer of 2026. The pop-up cart appeared in Lincoln Park during the summer months, offering free lemonade and a chance to co-create short poems about life and lemons.
At Narrative from 7:00-8:00pm, come and hear the zesty poetry co-written with strangers who wandered in from the park, as well as from a special local poetry guest: Otto Vock. In addition to the Lemonade Stand crew, we'll feature poets from Vock's poetry workshop, "Word on the street: poetry as record." This project was supported by a Somerville Arts Council project grant.
Narrative will be open for a mingle and browsing after the reading until 8:30pm. Your ticket can include a copy of the Lemonade Stand poetry chapbook, and chapbooks will also be available for purchase. Your $5 ticket can also be used as a store credit on the evening.
Seats are limited.
Registration required to attend. Ticket can be applied as $5 credit for an in-store purchase, & you may purchase a copy of the chapbook as a ticket add-on. Credit must be redeemed at the event. 1 credit redemption per store purchase. Refunds not available for this event.
