About this Event
Our first LEGO® Serious Play® Facilitator Certification in Victoria: a small, in-person cohort for people who want to bring hands-on thinking and sense-making into their work.
The LEGO® Serious Play® method is a facilitation method for the conversations that matter and are hard to have. It also helps bring unconscious ideas into conscious view. People build their thinking in bricks, tell the story of what they built, and then work with those models together, connecting them, mapping them, and testing what happens when something changes. The model gives everyone something to point at, and every voice gets a turn.
What happens over the two days
Day 1, Experiencing the Method. You go through the full build progression as a participant, from skills builds to individual, group and landscape builds. Then you learn how to write build questions and structure a workshop.
Day 2, Becoming the Facilitator. Depending on the cohort, you'll either be introduced to systems builds or combine the LEGO® Serious Play® method with Action Learning, a team-based approach to working on real problems through questioning, reflection and action. There's an open conversation about how you'll use the method in your own work. Then comes the main event: you facilitate part of a workshop for your cohort and invited guests, with feedback and coaching at the end.
The theory, history and research are covered in pre-training videos before you arrive, so the time in the room goes to building and practising.
