Legislators at War Lecture Series

This free event explores the 1917 New South Wales election during the First World War and the challenges faced by soldier-legislators serving overseas while seeking to retain their parliamentary seats.

The lecture will discuss:

• The service of Members of the Legislative Assembly during the war in 1916-17
• Parliament after the Conscription Referendum
• The 1917 election and its impact on Members serving overseas

This is the third lecture in our Legislators at War series. The first two lectures explored the service of parliamentarians in the First World War and the 1916 Conscription Referendum.
