🎤 Speaker: Professor Richard Mitchell
Join us for an eye-opening evening as Professor Richard “Rick” Mitchell demystifies one of the most feared words in medicine: cancer. In clear, engaging language, he will explain what cancer really is, why it develops, how it spreads, and how it can ultimately be fatal.
While exploring the cellular and molecular chaos that turns normal cells into malignancies, Professor Mitchell will also highlight the remarkable progress being made in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Drawing on decades of experience as a physician-scientist and educator at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, he will share how researchers, clinicians, and patients are working together to “wrestle cancer to the ground.”
Professor Mitchell is an MD/PhD pathologist whose work has focused on the mechanisms of solid organ rejection and cardiovascular disease, and he continues to collaborate on cutting-edge projects spanning cardiac imaging, genetics, and more.
