🧠 Lecture: "Founding Mothers: How Women Shaped American Politics"
🎤 Speaker: Professor Lindsey Cormack
Join us for an illuminating evening as Professor Lindsey Cormack reveals how women have long been central to American politics, even when they were excluded from formal power. From hosting gatherings to shaping social and political norms, women have built and sustained the informal networks that make democratic life possible.
Professor Cormack will explore how women create and maintain political infrastructure—spaces where supporters and opponents can meet, trade information, and see each other as human beyond the heat of legislative battles. She frames this work as “civic care”: convening people, building bridges, nurturing community after elections, and doing the unglamorous, essential labor that keeps democracy alive between news cycles.
Come discover the hidden histories and overlooked contributions of women who have held our political world together from behind the scenes.
