About this Event
We'll start our journey by analyzing the "Baroque Bestiary": dragons, mermaids, and grotesque figures that decorate the balconies of Via Palmieri and the portals of the center. I'll teach you how to read the messages that the noble families of Lecce sent through the stone.
From "Spirit" we'll move on to "Matter." I'll take you to the beating heart of local craftsmanship, entering a papier-mâché workshop. Here, away from the souvenir shops, you'll see the traditional "foco" process and discover why this technique is called the art of the poor. We'll end on a high note, honoring your palate with a tasting of a warm rustic, explaining why this delight of puff pastry and béchamel is the true symbol of the city's identity.
