This powerful gathering brings together activists, educators, artists, and community members to explore shared struggles and collective visions for justice across Congo, Sudan, Palestine, Cuba and West Papua.
Hosted by the National Education Union London International Solidarity Network, this non-profit event will feature a dynamic programme of political discussions, creative workshops, and community-led activities. Rooted in internationalism and grassroots organising, the day will create space for learning, connection, and action.
The event is open to all, with a special welcome to NEU members and those committed to global justice and solidarity.
Featured panellists include Sly Mido (CAYP), her Excellency Ismara Mercedes Vargas Walter (Cuban Ambassador UK), Mohammed Elnaiem (Decolonial Centre), Mashair Saeed (Sudanese Women for Peace), Dr Nihad Khanfar (APCUK), Benny Wender (United Liberation Movement for West Papua) with more speakers to be announced. Together, they will lead discussions on resistance, decolonisation, Education and the ongoing struggle each country faces.
Throughout the day, there will be political workshops and teach-ins led by organisers and campaigners, offering practical ways to engage in solidarity work and deepen understanding of the issues such as Disarm Education and Refugee Solidarity Network.
Explore a range of stalls alongside spaces for conversation and exchange. The event will also include a film screening, adding another layer of reflection and storytelling: Grenade in Maqluba.
As always, food will be provided with Senegalese catering and we will close the day with entertainment, bringing music, performance, and joy to end in celebration of culture, resilience, and hope through Salsa Cuba music by Omar Puente Fiffe.
A rich cultural and political gathering you won’t want to miss.
All proceeds and donations from the event will support Roots, a grassroots refugee solidarity organisation working with displaced communities in the refugee camps of Dunkirk, France.
