About this Event
Join us for an afternoon of learning, land tending, planting, gathering, and conversation at Pilchuck Julia Landing.
Learn about the land, its history, and the restoration work taking place.
Tend the plants and relationships growing here.
Gather plants, knowledge, and community.
Located at the mouth of the Pilchuck River, this site holds a rich natural and cultural history and is home to an evolving food forest and riparian restoration area. Together, we’ll explore how history, ecology, food, medicine, habitat restoration, and community come together through our Biocultural Restoration Initiative.
We’ll begin with a walk and talk through the site, exploring the land history of the area, the river, and the ecological restoration and enhancement work underway.
From there, we’ll move into hands-on tending and planting, helping care for and strengthen the developing food forest and riparian buffer planting.
We’ll close by gathering plants from the site for tea, followed by reflection, conversation, and tea time together.
