Leading Without Precedent: Supervision for a Changing Legal Profession — Sydney
Supervising junior lawyers has never been a simple task, but AI is changing the ground it stands on. The matters juniors used to cut their teeth on are increasingly being handled by technology, and what the next generation expects from their supervisors looks different again. The old playbook for developing early-career lawyers doesn't fully apply anymore, and nobody has written the new one yet.
Few people are closer to that question right now than our panel like Jacqueline Dawson, Senior Vice President of the Law Society of NSW and its incoming President for 2027, who joins us alongside leaders from large-firm practice, and the profession's risk and insurance side for a genuinely open Sydney conversation on what supervision actually requires in this environment. Expect sharper questions rather than tidy answers, and practical thinking on leadership and coaching that you can take straight back into your own team.
On the panel:
Jacqueline Dawson — Principal, Sexton Family Law, and Senior Vice President of the Law Society of NSW (incoming President, 2027)
Kate Booth — Head of Learning & Development, MinterEllison
Jennifer McMillan — Manager, Practice Support Services, Lawcover
Eric Boone - Director, Madison Marcus Law Firm.
Moderated by Claire Bibby — Co-founder and Director, Coaching Advocates. Executive coach and business lawyer with 30+ years across private practice and in-house, working with lawyers and leaders on career growth and sustainable leadership.
If you're a legal supervisor, managing partner, junior lawyer or HR/L&D leader based in Sydney, this one's for you. Spots are limited, so register soon to secure your seat.
