About this Event
Join the Royal Aeronautical Society Prestwick Branch and Clyde Aerospace Early Careers Network for a lecture with MEng CEng MIMechE, Business Development Manager at Rolls-Royce.
Strategy involves turning ambition into clear choices, coordinated action and value. Drawing on experience across manufacturing, procurement, operations and strategy, Vijay will explore where strategy sits within aerospace organisations and how it informs the decisions they make.
The lecture will introduce a framework for moving from understanding a challenge to defining a guiding policy and taking action. Public-domain examples from aircraft manufacturers, engine manufacturers and suppliers will illustrate these ideas, alongside an interactive case comparing a tactical response with a strategic solution.
What you’ll take away
- An understanding of why strategy matters in aerospace.
- A framework for connecting diagnosis, choices and action.
- A clearer distinction between tactical responses and strategic solutions.
- Examples to help you apply these ideas in your studies or professional role.
The session is aimed at students, early-career professionals and aerospace professionals, with a 40–45-minute lecture followed by audience Q&A.
Vijay is open to networking and collaborating with academics, students and researchers. Please arrive early to catch a chat with him!
