The Leadership Challenge
Artificial intelligence is creating new opportunities across the public sector, but technology is only part of the story. For many leaders, the immediate challenge is helping people adapt. Teams are asking questions about changing work practices, emerging capabilities, workforce impacts, and what these changes mean for their day-to-day roles.
Leaders are increasingly expected to communicate clearly, manage uncertainty, respond to concerns, maintain engagement, and support learning while organisational approaches continue to evolve.
Leading People Through AI-Enabled Change has been designed to help people leaders meet these challenges. Rather than teaching AI tools, the programme focuses on the practical leadership skills needed to guide teams through change.
Who This Programme Is For
This programme is designed specifically for people leaders within New Zealand regulatory agencies and public sector bodies, including:
- Managers
- Team leaders
- Anyone responsible for supporting people through organisational change
No technical background or AI expertise is required.
What Participants Will Gain
By the end of the programme, participants will be better equipped to:
- Understand the unique people impacts of AI-enabled change

- Lead teams through uncertainty and ambiguity
- Build confidence and trust during periods of change

Why This Programme Is Different
Many AI learning programmes focus purely on technology and software tools. Leading People Through AI-Enabled Change focuses on the leadership challenge.
Successful adoption of new technologies depends on people. This programme equips leaders with practical approaches for helping teams adapt, engage, learn, and perform during periods of transformation.
