About this Event
This full-day professional learning experience explores what it takes to improve teaching and learning across an entire science department.
You’ll explore the evidence behind high-quality science teaching, use the Science Teaching Excellence Framework to reflect on current practice, and identify the areas that could have the greatest impact for your team.
From there, you’ll turn those insights into action, developing an instructional vision for your department and exploring how strong leadership, professional learning and effective implementation can amplify the impact of high-quality instructional materials.
You’ll leave with:
- A clear picture of your department’s current strengths and opportunities
- A priority area for improving science teaching and learning
- A draft instructional vision for your team
- A shared language for talking about great science teaching
- Practical strategies for helping teachers move from simply planning lessons to deeply understanding and adapting them for their students
This is not about learning how to use Stile. It’s about how you lead its implementation to create meaningful, sustained improvement in teaching practice and student outcomes.
"The Science Teaching Excellence Framework will be fabulous for giving the evidence base and justification for the what we are trying to implement. It helps us with the 'why'...hugely time saving!!"
