Filmed over 10 years, one girl’s epic journey from Syria to Germany and back again. She and her family navigate war, exile, and heartbreak in a foreign land, illuminating the complexities of the refugee experience.
« A poignant, decade-spanning portrait of a Syrian refugee caught between two ideas of home... highly polished, emotionally accessible. » (Variety)
« By following the girl for a decade, we not only watch her grow into a young woman, but the film also offers a rare glimpse at both the joys and strains of a life lived between two worlds. » (RogerEbert.com)
« A raw and absorbing epic about “what comes after” – one that naturally unfolds with all the joy, anguish, and unresolvable inner conflict of life itself. » (IndieWire)
