Latin Quarter come to Nottingham for the first time since Rock City in 1986 and 1987. The gig is part of a 20 concert tour of the UK and Germany. The band first came to people’s attention in the 80’s with hits such as ‘Radio Africa’ and ‘New Millionaires’. These songs were part of an album, Modern Times, that the new York Daily post described as
‘…one of the best electro-pop albums ever to come out of the UK.’
However it is since they reunited in 2012 that they have been their most productive. In these last 14 years they have produced 8 studio and 1 live album and of course promoted these albums with many concerts.
In 2024 longtime members Steve Skaith, Steve Jeffries and Mary Carewe were joined by cellist Anna Carewe. The album ‘I Together’ was followed by a hugely successful tour in Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
This acoustic line-up was originally planned as a one-off but the response to both this record and the live gigs was so positive that they have decided to continue this year as a quartet. The concert will combine older songs with brand new ones from a new album, ‘Crooks and Crimes’ to be released in September.
