Learn up to THREE social dances in 5 weeks with local dancer and choreographer, Ray Hayes! Mark your calendar, every Thursday in October, for a fun, beginner-friendly series where you will learn Salsa, Bachata, and West Coast Swing! 💃🕺✨You don’t need ANY previous experience to join the Intro to Salsa/Bachata and West Coast Swing classes. However, students will need to know their basics to join the West Coast Swing level 2 class. (See below for prerequisites) All ages are welcome!

No partner? No problem! We rotate partners in class and the instructor dances with students as well. Many people join the classes solo, we will rotate you in!

𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝟐 𝐩𝐫𝐞-𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬: Level 2 West Coast Swing students should be familiar with the basic sugar push, left side pass, underarm turn, and basic whip.
𝐃𝐫𝐨𝐩-𝐢𝐧𝐬 are welcome every week, but please understand, those taking the full series will have more knowledge by week 3 than those dropping in for the first time. A brief review will be offered every week, but it is highly recommended to sign up for the full 5-week series to have the best experience.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬? If you are interested in joining the West Coast Swing classes, but don't know your basics yet, please consider attending the Monday night West Coast Swing classes at the Chico Women's Club. They offer a beginner class every week!
𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬: Alternatively, Ray offers Private Lessons, which can help catch you up to speed. Lessons are offered in the styles of Salsa, Bachata, or West Coast Swing. You may take the lessons solo or with a partner.

𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: Last but not least, Ray offers a Dance Volunteer program for those interested in taking the series for FREE. There are no prerequisites to join the program, just an interest in learning to dance and availability to attend at least 4 weeks of the 5 week series.
