All wrecks drift here eventually. The sea remembers.

Beyond the edge of storm and memory lies a place found on no living chart: Last Harbor.

There is no lighthouse to guide the way. No familiar shoreline waits beyond the fog. No living harbor master keeps watch.

And yet, somehow, the wrecks arrive.

Ships lost to storm, war, ambition, negligence, ice, fire, betrayal, and terrible chance awaken together in a spectral harbor outside of time. Some have rested beneath the water for centuries. Others are newly dead. Some are remembered around the world; others have watched their names slowly disappear from memory.

None of them know why they have been brought here.

Then the Harbor begins to answer.

A message washes ashore.

A chart appears where none stood before.

Letters arrive for recipients who no longer have addresses.

The record of another doomed crew reveals that someone has attempted this ritual before.

Piece by piece, the wrecks uncover an old method of calling something that sails beyond the reach of ordinary ships: the legendary Flying Dutchman.

But the ritual cannot be completed through sacrifice or command. Each wreck must decide what it is willing to offer freely—and seventeen isolated ghosts must determine whether they are willing to become something they have not been in a very long time: a crew.

Last Harbor is a highly social, conversation-driven maritime ghost LARP focused on memory, grief, legacy, responsibility, belonging, and what the dead owe to the people and stories they leave behind.

Players portray fictional personifications of real historical shipwrecks. Each character carries their own burden, relationships, memories, and an object somehow saved from the water. As the Harbor reveals a sequence of supernatural clues, players must determine how those objects, their individual offerings, and their relationships connect to an unfinished summoning ritual.

Gameplay centers on:

  • Character relationships and interpersonal scenes
  • Collaborative investigation and ritual discovery
  • Personal memories and revelations
  • Negotiation, disagreement, and philosophical debate
  • Voluntary offerings and collective ritual
  • Deciding what it truly means to become a crew
  • Facing the Flying Dutchman and defending the course they have chosen

There is no combat system and very little required physical action. The mystery is not designed as a traditional escape room or competitive puzzle. Clues exist to create conversation, reveal character, and gradually give the group the tools necessary to make a collective choice.

Although the histories inspiring these characters involve real loss of life, players portray the ships themselves—not passengers, sailors, captains, or victims. The game uses those histories as the foundation for fictional characters exploring questions of memory, responsibility, identity, and what remains after catastrophe.

Last Harbor is primarily conversation-based and can accommodate players who remain seated, use mobility aids, or have limited mobility. Seating is available throughout play, and the central ritual can be adapted around players' physical needs.

Costumes encouraged, but not required.

New larpers welcome!

Eventually, the fog answers.

The Flying Dutchman comes when called.

And when She does, the wrecks must decide not simply whether the dead should remain or depart—but what they owe to those they carried, what they are willing to release, and what course they will choose together.

The sea remembers. But memory does not have to be a Pr*son.
