About this Event
Thanks for your interest in LAS110: Introduction to OMTech Laser Cutters! This free beginner-friendly course is intended to be an easy introduction to some pretty powerful laser cutters, including our 60W and 130W CO2 machines. As part of the 60-minute course, you'll learn how to operate laser cutters, learn more about what type of materials you can cut and engrave, and ultimately learn best practices for not setting things on fire!
At the end of the course users will have firm knowledge on the following:
- Basic laser system operations.
- Lightburn software.
- Material hazards and dangers.
- Effects of material density on laser cutting and engraving.
- Basic laser safety.
Hi! I'm Bridger (he/him) and I've been creating and building for a long time. I have a background in design engineering where I utilized CAD software to create blueprints for large infrastructure projects. In college I worked for several years in a 3D printing lab that focused on custom medical devices. I joined CCM in March and have been using these OmTech lasers to create wood veneer inlays. I'm excited to meet you and answer any questions you have!
