LAS Festival, Second Chapter

After the success of The Menu last year, LAS' annual multi-disciplinary Festival returns for its second edition: The Altar. Structured across four core days over two weeks, each curator leads their own service, offering their own interpretation of what we worship now and how the sacred is built.
Every day opens with its own ceremony, marking the start of each new service before the evening unfolds.
What to Expect

Curated by Emilia Gonzalez & Barney Pau. Inspired by the Holy Communion, an evening on how taste and scent bind people together and mark moments as significant.
Body & Adornment | Saturday 14th November, 19:00 - 23:00
Curated by Katie McGoran & Giulia Moliarov. Skin, hair, textiles and prosthetics, staged as both installation and runway.
Performance | Thursday 19th November, 19:00 - 23:00
Curated by Elizabeth Prentice & Gianna T. The body as subject and medium, negotiated live between performer and room.
Music & Sound | Saturday 21st November, 19:00 - 00:00
Curated by Kai Marks. Sound across genres as a mechanism for collective experience.
Curators' Statement
"The Menu taught us what happens when people gather around something shared. The Altar asks what happens when we gather around something we believe in. It's not a religious project, it's a social one; an inquiry into why we still hunger for ritual, for witness, for something larger than ourselves." - Giulia Moliarov

Access
General admission is free, with an optional paid supporter ticket available to help cover the cost of music and sound equipment rental. Everyone needs to RSVP to attend.
Last year, The Menu welcomed 1,000+ ticketed visitors, 175 of whom opted into the supporter ticket, raising £1,280. That support goes directly toward the several thousand hours of in-kind labour it takes to deliver a project of this scale as an independent, artist-run charity.
