About
Whales spend most of their lives beneath the waves, but new technologies, including drones, satellites, and sensors, are allowing us to observe their private social behaviors as never before. Lars Bejder and his lab at UH take us on a journey inside their world.

His team deploys advanced technologies, like drones, satellites, and suction-cup sensors, to better understand how whales and dolphins live, communicate, reproduce, and respond to a changing environment.
