🎄🏃♀️ LAPS & TRACKS OTARA BLOCK CHRISTMAS LIGHTS EDITION 🏃♂️🎶Before the Christmas madness officially begins on our streets, we’re kicking things off with a special Pre-Ōtara Block Christmas Lights Launch in collaboration with our very own Otara Laps & Tracks – Christmas Edition team!
Hosted by The HIVE Leadership Hub Ōtara / NEW ERA Gen Z Youth Collective, this is a chance for our neighbours, whānau, rangatahi and wider community to come together, get moving and enjoy the vibes before the Ōtara Christmas Lights officially light up.
📅 Saturday 5 December 2026
⏰ 6:00pm – 9:00pm
- 6pm Free Burger Station open thanks to our amazing friends over at City Contractors, Lovegrove Cres, Otara. They served up mean burgers last year for us on Clayton reserve and they're back again this year to do it all again.
- 7.30pm Warm Up
- 8pm Our DJ Christmas Walk, Jog, Run, Bike, Escooter lap begins
- 9pm Ending off back at sandbrook with Free protein drinks & electrolytes while the DJ plays out the final half hour.
📍 Starting AND finishing at Sandbrook Reserve
🏃 One full lap of the entire Ōtara Christmas Lights Block 1
Come walk, jog or run — all fitness levels are welcome and you can go at your own pace. Bring the whānau, wear something festive, throw on the Christmas colours and get ready for a night of movement, music and community.
🎧 Our DJ will be confirmed closer to the time, jamming all our favourite Christmas tunes with those Southside flavours.
This one is especially for our neighbours who help make the Ōtara Christmas Lights what they are every year. Before thousands of visitors arrive and our streets come alive, this is our chance to enjoy **one full lap around Block 1 together** before opening night. All welcome to join! Both residents and those who just want to get amongst the Christmas vibes!
❤️💚 OUR STREETS. OUR COMMUNITY. OUR CHRISTMAS.
✨ Light up Ōtara. Run together. Shine together. ✨
