A Legendary Key West Performance — Jimmy Buffett And The Landsharks Band!
During a Landsharks concert in Key West, Florida, The Landsharks Band got the surprise of a lifetime when Jimmy Buffett himself made an unannounced appearance. Just off of Duval Street, in front of what was essentially all of Key West, Buffett joined The Landsharks on stage for an impromptu performance.
The chemistry between Buffett and The Landsharks was immediate — they had such a blast that Buffett hired them “on the spot” to be the house band at Margaritaville.
This unexpected collaboration between Buffett and The Landsharks marked the start of a lasting relationship between The Landsharks and The Parrothead world. They went on to perform everywhere, becoming closely tied to Buffett and Buffett’s tropical rock legacy, and The Tropical Rock music scene... and in the words of Jimmy Buffett, they’re “Keeping The Party Going!”
In a Radio Margaritaville interview with founding on-air personality Steve Huntington, Buffett praised The Landsharks, saying:
“I like that band. They are great showmen. They really are. They entertain an audience. That’s what I love about that band.”

After many surprise jams with The Landsharks at Margaritaville, Buffett shared more admiration for the group:

THE LANDSHARKS
Known for their vibrant energy, top-shelf musicianship, and historic performances alongside legends like Jimmy Buffett, The Beach Boys, Bob Marley’s Wailers, and many more, The Landsharks are a part of Beach Music History. This authentic beach band has done it all. Besides hundreds of performances at Margaritaville, they’ve also opened up for many acts and tours, including The Beach Boys Tour (in North Carolina and Florida). They’ve performed for Rita Marley, at the grand opening of Bob Marley’s Bar and Restaurant. They’ve performed hundreds of shows in Disney World and Universal Studios, and they’ve even played at The Super Bowl.
