Landscapes of Recovery: The Role of Art in the Ecological Restoration of Ukraine – a presentation by Ukrainian architect, urban designer, and researcher Liza Goncharenko
War-affected landscapes in Ukraine operate as more-than-human archives: environments in which soil, vegetation, infrastructure, and human bodies register and transform the effects of violence over time. Rather than treating damaged landscapes as passive sites, this lecture will showcase them as active systems whose ecological processes complicate narratives of repair. Ultimately, it asks what forms of restoration become possible beyond human-centered reconstruction.
