About this Event
Walk the Trent Lands with members of Inwendaamin Oki and learn through story, ecology, cerremony, and relationship. The gathering will begin with an Anishinaabe ceremony led by Elder Dorothy Taylor before moving together through the Lands surrounding the Trent Wildlife Sanctuary and Camp Kawartha Environmental Centre.
Along the waym participants will learn about native plants and medicines, ecological relationships, the history held by these places, and the ongoing impacts of development and land managment. This is more than a walk through campus. It is an invitation to consider what it means to be in relationship with Land and Water, to understand the responsibilities thtat come with being here, and to learn from histories of Indigenous resistance, stewardship, and care.
Ceremony follows its own protocols and timing.
Light refreshments will be shared afterwards.
