About this Event
Join the Lancashire Society of Architects for an engaging evening with architect John Puttick, who will share insights into his work on Preston Youth Zone and a range of other local projects. John Puttick Associates has strong involvement with Lancashire. The practice was founded in 2014 following its competition-winning proposal for the refurbishment of Preston Bus Station. Reopened to the public in 2018 to critical acclaim, the project demonstrated the practice’s ability to deliver a technically complex civic project while securing the future of one of the UK’s most significant Modernist buildings.
During the evening, John will explore the ideas, challenges and opportunities behind these projects, offering an insight into the architectural process and the role design can play in shaping communities and places. Drawing on his experience of working across Lancashire, John will discuss not only the projects themselves, but also the design thinking, collaboration and decision-making that brought them to life. The talk will provide an opportunity to discover more about the development of these important local projects and the wider context in which they were delivered. Whether you have an interest in architecture, design, regeneration, heritage or the future development of our local communities, this promises to be an informative and inspiring evening with an architect closely engaged with the area.
