ABOUT THE SHOW
With a voice that soars effortlessly through deep wells of soul and smooth, slow-burning R&B, Lamont Landers captivates as a powerhouse vocalist, searing guitarist, and thoughtful songwriter. His sound reflects a small-town Alabama upbringing and a musical journey that led him, on his own terms, into the spotlight.
“I let the music speak for itself,” Landers says. “There are so many elements that reflect who I am. I’m from the South, so there’s a natural Southern vibe. I love soul music and guitar—it’s everything I am.”
Born and raised in Decatur, where “everybody knows everybody,” Landers grew up surrounded by music. In his father’s Chevrolet S-10 Blazer, he soaked up the sounds of the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. At home, his mother played Al Green, Sly & The Family Stone, Ray Charles, and Marvin Gaye, laying the foundation for his love of classic soul.
Landers picked up the guitar as a refuge but didn’t discover the full power of his voice until his early twenties, when his college band’s lead singer quit and he unexpectedly stepped up to the microphone.
His breakout moment followed graduation, when a cover of Ray Charles’ “Hit the Road Jack” amassed more than half a million views in a single night. Appearances on America’s Got Talent and Showtime at the Apollo, along with knockout covers on TikTok, helped him build a dedicated following.
When Questlove shared Landers’ rendition of “Rubber Band Man,” it caught the attention of GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Dave Cobb. An invitation to record at Cobb’s Savannah, Georgia, studio led to Landers signing with the producer’s Republic Records imprint, Lucile.
His original music reveals an artist equally at home with gritty social reflection, Motown swagger, and deeply personal storytelling—bringing raw emotion and guitar-driven energy to songs about love, change, and fatherhood.
Don’t miss this chance to experience Landers’ powerhouse vocals, searing guitar, and Southern soul.
