About this Event
LAFX: Island Sessions at The Jago
Live Caribbean Music · Culture · Food · Community
Wednesday 2 December 2026 | 8pm–midnight The Jago, Dalston, London
Step into the world of LAFX.
Island Sessions is a monthly gathering built around the sounds, stories and spirit of the Caribbean—bringing live music, cultural expression, food and community together for a different kind of night out in East London.
Led by LA (Drums), the four-piece band blends the infectious rhythms of reggae, dancehall, soca, bouyon and zouk with the musicianship and freedom of jazz. Expect deep grooves, live improvisation, familiar Caribbean influences and moments that make it hard to stay still.
But Island Sessions is about more than the music.
Each edition brings a cultural guest into the room to share a part of their craft, heritage or story. Alongside the live performances, expect a warm atmosphere, Caribbean-inspired snacks available to purchase, drinks from the bar and time to connect with people.
Whether you’re Caribbean-born, part of the diaspora, or simply love good music and discovering different cultures, you’re welcome here.
