About this Event
Three hours, a proper lunch, and a room full of women who want to help you.
Ladies in Business is a community of women who connect, collaborate and rise together. Our lunches are where that really comes alive. No name badges and forced small talk, no working the room, just good food and conversations that actually go somewhere.
How the day runs
We open with half an hour of arrivals, drinks and open networking, so nobody walks into a room that has already started without them. Then a warm welcome, our new ladies introduced properly, and a moment from our Charity of the Year.
Everyone has sixty seconds to introduce herself around three prompts. Who you are, who you help, and what you need this month. That last one is the one that matters. It is what turns a pleasant chat into an actual referral.
Then the que cards come out. Twice through the lunch, a card goes round every table. Each lady takes one, reads it out and answers in thirty seconds. They are the questions that get you past the pitch and to the woman behind the business, and they are the reason nobody at our tables ends up talking about the weather. It is the part our ladies quote back to us most often.
We finish with a guest speaker, a member spotlight, a member talk, and an open floor for asks, offers and referrals, where the room genuinely helps.
Come knowing who you want to meet
Have a think beforehand about who you would love to be introduced to. A name, an industry, a type of business. The ladies in this room cannot open a door for you if they do not know which door you are knocking on.
The bit most networking forgets
After the lunch you will receive the contact details of everyone who was in the room, so the conversations do not stop when the plates are cleared. Success is in the follow up, every single time. One thoughtful message the week after is worth more than two hours of small talk on the day.
Who it is for
Women running or building a business, at any stage. First year or fifteenth, quietly brilliant or naturally loud. No pressure to pitch, no awkward speed networking, and absolutely no need to be the most confident voice in the room.
What happens once you book
We will be in touch with the full venue details and to check any dietary requirements. Come as you are, bring your business cards, and bring an appetite.
Seats are limited to the tables we have, so do book early.
Connect, collaborate, rise together, giving you a voice.
