About this Event
Celebrate Afro-Latin American stories through film, culture, and community at the Alice Moore Black Arts & Cultural Center.
Join us for a special screening of La Suprema, followed by a community discussion exploring the film, its themes, and the experiences and stories of Afro-Latin American communities.
Set in a remote Colombian village without electricity, La Suprema follows a teenager who brings her community together to find a way to watch her estranged uncle compete in a world championship boxing match. The film tells a story of community, determination, identity, and the power of people coming together. La Suprema is a Colombian Spanish-language comedy-drama directed by Felipe Holguín Caro.
