LA SERATA GIOVANE ❤️ 🍅 🇮🇹https://www.trybooking.com/au/event/1628849
What is La Serata Giovane?
For generations, Italian dinner dances were at the heart of our community. They were where families came together, friendships were formed and memories were made.
We are bringing together the things that have always made these evenings so special: beautiful Italian food, music, dancing, laughter, friendship and the unmistakable warmth of Italian hospitality.
It is a night for young (and young at heart) Italo-Australians, Italian families, friends and anyone who simply loves Italian culture.
Who are we?
We are Chiara Ravnik and Jenna Lo Bianco, two Melbourne secondary school teachers with a shared love of Italian culture, storytelling, performance and community.
Chiara Ravnik is a Drama and English teacher, trained singer and founder of Nonna’s Casa, an Instagram page celebrating Italian food, family, music, traditions and the heart of the Italian nonna. Through Nonna’s Casa, Chiara is passionate about connecting third generation Italo Australians with their culture and heritage, bringing the warmth, humour and nostalgia of Nonna’s kitchen into modern Australian life.
Jenna Lo Bianco is a Melbourne teacher, Italianist, educator and bestselling Italian-Australian author, known online as The Italian Teacher. Jenna combines her academic expertise with her passion for Italian language, culture and literature, connecting a new generation of Italo Australians with their heritage through education, storytelling and her writing.
Her books include:
📘The Italian Marriage
📕Love & Rome
📙Venetian Lessons in Love
📔Love, Al Dente
Jenna’s work celebrates Italian language, culture, food and romance, making her love of Italy a natural part of the La Serata Giovane story.
As teachers, we both see how important culture and belonging are to young people. We believe our traditions should be cherished, but also given room to evolve.
We are incredibly proud to be holding La Serata Giovane at the Williamstown Italian Social Club (WISC).
Located at 30 Garden Street, Williamstown, Melbourne, WISC has been bringing Italian families and friends together for generations through food, culture, social gatherings and community.
For us, this makes the venue particularly meaningful. We are bringing a new generation into a space that has already played such an important role in the lives of generations before us.
