La Perla is a percussive-vocal trio from Bogotá, Colombia created by Karen, Diana, and Roberta (Giovanna), and inspired by the music of the Great Caribbean mixed with sounds of the city. They began playing in 2014 after years of individual experience in the interpretation of gaitas, hand-drums and folk singing. La Perla is gaita, porro, chalupa, bullerengue, cumbia, merengue dominicano, champeta and beat box.
