Attracting Foreign Investment and Lending into Ukraine, and Compliance with UK, US and other Western Requirements and Expectations.
David Lorello, a member of the BUCC Board and partner at the prominent multinational law firm Covington & Burling (that has represented Ukraine and Ukrainian companies so well for years) will provide observations on western legal and regulatory considerations for investing and lending in Ukraine. David has advised many international companies making strategic investments in, or joint ventures with, Ukrainian companies, as well as Ukrainian companies investing abroad in the UK, US and elsewhere,
for decades.
His remarks will address key issues, such as: (1) the expectations of international investors and lenders for the corporate governance structures of Ukrainian companies; (2) strategies for Ukrainian companies to respond to due diligence requests from potential investors and from financial institutions as lenders; and (3) for defense sector companies, the implications of export controls and access to European defence sector financing. David, as a leading specialist in sanctions, will also talk on their application to investments, loans and other transactions.
