Celebrating a lifetime of song and stories featuring Cash Savage & the Last Drinks and special guests.
For one night only, multi-award-winning singer-songwriter Kutcha Edwards will offer audiences a rare opportunity to experience his music and stories in an unforgettable setting. The acclaimed Mutti Mutti, Yorta Yorta, Nari Nari Songman, has long been recognised as one of the nation's most powerful and soulful voices. Since emerging in the 90s, Kutcha has been prolifically combining songwriting and activism. Through his songs, stories, and the connections he makes with others, Kutcha shares truths that are too often unheard. Marking '60 cycles around the sun', this special night will unfold across two compelling sets.
Setting the tone with warmth, humour, and heartfelt admiration, Kutcha's longtime friend Brian Nankervis will guide the evening as MC. Offering an intimate on-the-couch Toast and Roast session, the first set features Kutcha and Brian in conversation with special guests MO'JU, Bumpy, Tjimba Possum-Burns, Cash Savage, Aaron Choulai, Rebecca Barnard and Richard Pleasance. With each artist performing and sharing their connection to Kutcha's songs, this set will be supported by Kutcha's band Jay Jarome, Nicola Bell, Linc Yow Yeh, Phoebe Elsworth and Nick Larkins - bringing his songs to life with depth and unmistakable soul.
Following this rich exchange of memories and music, the second set shifts gears as Kutcha joins Cash Savage and the Last Drinks for a moving collaborative performance. Witness the duo bring new energy to the stories Kutcha has carried through his music. Join one of the country's most important artists as Kutcha shares heartfelt connection and a sense of belonging through his songs and stories in this unmissable celebration.
Praise for Kutcha Edwards
'Quite possibly the finest contemporary singer of his generation.' - Rhythms Magazine
'Kutcha was at once mesmeric, raucous, poignant, and cheeky for the first of his four sets and was awarded with the festivals' Artist of the Year Award following the set.' - Jack Latimore The Age, SMH
