About this Event
Recognising Skills And Enabling Lifelong Learning. Researching What AI Can Do
Research Collaboration Launch | Deakin University Applied AI Initiative × Red Velvet AI
What if AI could help more people have their skills and experience recognised, and keep learning throughout their careers?
Deakin University's Applied AI Initiative and Red Velvet AI are joining forces on a two-year research program exploring AI's role in skills recognition, workforce mobility, and lifelong learning. Together, they are building and testing applied AI tools inside real education workflows, building the evidence base for how AI workflows should be designed, deployed, and governed in education systems that affect real people.
The launch event on 17 April 2026 is an opportunity to meet the researchers, AI practitioners and industry partners behind this work, see the tools in action, and be part of the conversation about where applied AI in education is headed.
Complimentary attendance. Light lunch and networking to follow.
Here's the official press release about the collaboration.
