Combining the monthly KRMB outing and the Great Southern BioBlitz, 2026, any naturalists and photographers interested in biodiversity and the Australian bush are invited to a stroll through mixed woodland south of Wellard, taking advantage of the newly upgraded trails through the Leda Nature Reserve. We'll be starting at 8AM, to avoid the worst of the November heat, but attendees should still wear sunscreen, and insect repellant, and bring water and a hat. Cameras and binoculars are also encouraged, to record our sightings.
Observations should be uploaded to the GSB2026 Greater Perth project on iNaturalist, here -https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/great-southern-bioblitz-2026-greater-perth - so attendees are encouraged to join iNaturalist and the project in advance, and record every species they can over the four days of the BioBlitz, anywhere in the Greater Perth area.
Park anywhere near the intersection of Ebrington Rd & Brierfield Street, Wellard, or walk down the hill from the Wellard train station, and from there we'll walk south into the reserve, and return to where we started for morning tea.
