Krannert Center Uncorked: Kurt Reeder Trio, A Charlie Brown Christmas
Join us as C-U's house keyboardist, Kurt Reeder, brings his trio to Krannert Center Uncorked for a special performance of pianist Vince Guaraldi's classic jazz recording "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on December 3.
From Provo, Utah, Kurt came to the University of Illinois in 2018 to complete his Masters in Jazz Performance, fell in love with the community, and never left. Outside of his trio, he is part of several local ensembles, including The Kurt Reeder Organization, The Broadmoor Quartet, Allnighter, and others. He can be found performing at the Rose Bowl Tavern multiple nights a week.
Joining Kurt as part of this acoustic jazz trio are two giants of the local music scene: veteran drummer extraordinaire Ian Shepherd (Ian Shepherd and Friends, 90s Daughter) and U of I alumni bassist and educator Dr. Emma Taylor (Emma Taylor Quartet, Simply This Quintet).
Come enjoy a complete performance of this beloved jazz album, along with other select pieces from Guaraldi's catalog that fit the evening and the season.
All Krannert Center Uncorked performances are free on select Thursdays from 5:30-7pm at Stage 5 in the Krannert Center lobby.
