Krampusnacht! presented by the Illumi-Naughtie Occult Burlesque

The Illumi-Naughtie Occult Burlesque presents an evening of raucous revelry and holiday horrors , with your favorite creepy Christmas creatures, featuring Krampus, Mari Lywd, Frau Perchta, and more!

On Krampusnacht, traditionally celebrated on December 5th in the central and eastern Alpine countries of Europe, the devilish figure of Krampus would punish the naughty children and those who pervert the spirit of the season, before the arrival of St. Nicholas on the 6th of December. On Krampusnacht, be naughty and celebrate with Krampus and the cult of the Illumi-Naughtie! With the festive talents of Millie May, Harlie Hellfire, Skyburial, Mae the Bellydancer, Daewen, Mothur Mothra, and the head hottie of the Illumi-Naughtie, Vivian Meretrix!

The Illumi-Naughtie creates one-of-a-kind events that explore the mysterious world of the occult, educating and titillating audiences.

They incorporate occult traditions and history, folklore, mythology, and initiatory rites to guide audiences to different corners of the occult universe, raising ecstatic energy through the power and passion of our performers.

MILLIE MAY

Named after her beloved grandmother, Millie May has been performing in Chicago since 2010. Multifaceted, quirky, comedic, high energy, with a strong emphasis on tassel twirling, Millie is the spunky spinster with the heart of MOLD. She has also recently started her journey into drag king/draglesque under the name Ike Arrumba.

HARLIE HELLFIRE

Harlie HellFire is Chicago's seductive succubus. She loves to tangle her love for horror, alternative and pop culture with her love for sex and sparkles. She started shimmying on stage in 2019 and doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon! She's Satan's favorite and the demon of your wettest nightmare.

VIVIAN MERETRIX

Vivian Meretrix, the Sorceress of Shimmy and the Head Hottie from the Illumi-Naughtie, is an Ordained Priestess and Sacred Dancer, who has performed at national occult conferences as well as local Chicago burlesque stages. In 2023, she formed The Illumi-Naughtie Occult Burlesque, creating shows that titillate and educate, combining spiritually-based performances and occult history and ideology. Past shows include Rites of Spring, Divine Devils, Hermetica, The Occult Cabaret, and more!

SKYBURIAL

Hailing from Poland, but making Chicago her home, Skyburial has been dancing and performing for six years, and she specializes in classic burlesque, fire dance, and fan. Her fiery presence has been lighting up stages around the city, as well as the Chicago Full Moon Jam, where she is a prominent fire performer. She has appeared in Dollesque and the Illumi-Naughtie's Divine Devils, and is currently learning from her mentor Ms. Nixon. Skyburial is also a painter, artist, and designer. She will light you on fire with her wild, dark style!

MOTHUR MOTHRA

Emerging performer and visual artist, and graduate of Camp Newport, Mothur Mothra has recently fluttered into the Chicago burlesque scene. Once an exotic dancer in a life long ago, Mothra has used ritual movement and the art of burlesque to navigate disability, transmuting chronic pain into embodied gratitude and reverent sensuality. An established Celtic pagan and traditional witch, Mothra has engaged with magic and ritual for over 25 years. Putting the “lewd” in Mari Lwyd, Mothra invites you to be tickled by this “mare-y” Welsh holiday tradition. Let her in!

MAE THE BELLYDANCER

Mae the Bellydancer is a staple in the Chicago bellydance community. She was the producer of the beloved burlesque shows The Varietease Cabaret and the Knock Knock Hot Spot, and of course, the director of the long form bellydance show, the Glint. Currently she is teaching bellydance at Hyde Park School of Dance to the masses and has performed in shows all over the city, including Fusion Evolution, and the Illumi-Naughtie's Rites of Spring.

DAEWEN

Daewen is the founder of the Stygian Collective and the pioneer of Metal Fusion dance: a dark, powerful blend of heavy music and fusion belly dance. Drawing inspiration from metal riffs, horror, the human condition, mythology, and her mentors, she’s carved a niche in the fusion world as both a performer and instructor. Since 2020, Daewen has built a thriving international dance community, producing online festivals, leading workshops, and offering a comprehensive Stygian Certification Program for dancers of all levels. With a background in psychology, coaching, and rune divination, she combines technical expertise, magical flair, emotional depth, and a passion for personal growth to support dancers both on and off the stage. Known as “Mama Stygian,” Daewen balances her dark, powerful performances with warmth, humor, and a deep commitment to community.

FRATER FABULOSA

Frater Fabulosa, aka Jason Winslade, is the co-producer of the Illumi-Naughtie and its official emcee. He holds a doctorate in Performance Studies from Northwestern University, is the co-host of the YouTube program, Pop Occulture with Lilith Dorsey and Jason Winslade, and as an academic and writer, has specialized in the confluence of occultism and popular culture. He is the founder and producer of Ritual Rhythms Chicago, an organization dedicated to live performance, drumming, live music and dance, since 2015, and is the owner of the Ritual Rhythms Creative Studio in Rogers Park. He also the vocalist and lead songwriter for his band, Secrets of the Beehive, since 2014, and has performed as a percussionist and multi-instrumentalist for several bands in the midwestern and east coast festival scenes, including Faebotica, Mayan Ruins, Ginger Doss, and more.
