Krampusnacht at WicklandersOur 3rd Annual Old-World Winter Folklore Celebration
Saturday, December 5 | 2–6 PM
FREE Community Event
There is an older, stranger side to the holiday season. One filled with folklore, ancient traditions, mysterious creatures, and stories that have been passed from one generation to the next. Stories of horned visitors, forest spirits, mischievous household guardians, and the mysterious figures who wander through winter's darkest nights.
At Wicklanders, we believe these stories are worth remembering, sharing, and keeping alive. And for the third year in a row, we're bringing some of them to life.
Join us for our 3rd Annual Krampusnacht at Wicklanders!
We're opening our doors for an afternoon inspired by the folklore and traditions of the old-world. Expect a little mischief, a touch of the unusual, and an opportunity to experience a side of the holiday season you won't find at your typical Christmas celebration.
FREE Photos with Krampus | 4–6 PM
Krampus himself will be visiting Wicklanders! Bring your camera and capture a memorable holiday photograph with one of winter folklore's most infamous figures.
Hot Chocolate & Cookies
We'll be serving hot chocolate and cookies throughout the afternoon. Come enjoy something warm, spend some time with your neighbors, and take in the atmosphere.
A Visit from Baba Yaga
Krampus won't be our only visitor from the old stories. Keep an eye out for Baba Yaga, the mysterious woman of the forest, keeper of ancient wisdom, and one of folklore's most fascinating figures.
Find the Hidden Tomte
Somewhere inside Wicklanders, a mischievous tomte will be hiding. Search the shop, find our elusive visitor, and claim a special prize!
Dress for the Folklore
We'd love to see you arrive dressed as your favorite character from folklore, mythology, or winter legend. From woodland spirits and wandering witches to creatures of the forest, everyone is invited to become part of the story.
Costumes are encouraged but certainly not required.
A Little Folklore Before the Christmas Parade!
We're celebrating right before Marysville's annual Electric Lights Parade on State Avenue, which begins at 6:30 PM.
Make an afternoon of it! Stop by Wicklanders for Krampusnacht, enjoy some hot chocolate, visit with our folklore characters, and get your FREE photograph with Krampus before heading over to State Avenue for the Christmas parade.
A Celebration of Folklore & Community
For us, Krampusnacht has always been about more than costumes and photographs. It's about keeping old stories alive, sharing traditions that might otherwise be forgotten, and giving our community opportunities to experience something different together.
Over the past three years, we've loved watching this tradition take shape at Wicklanders. We believe there is something important about preserving folklore and passing these stories along to another generation.
We want Wicklanders to be a place where old knowledge, forgotten traditions, creativity, and community continue to have a home.
