About this Event
Kojak is a Canadian indie-rock band built on big hooks, raw emotion, and the kind of live energy that makes small rooms feel enormous. Emerging from Ontario’s vibrant rock scene, Kojak blends driving guitars, melodic bass lines, and dynamic vocals to create a sound that’s both modern and nostalgic — equal parts grit and heart.
After the departure of their former lead guitarist, Kojak found new fire with the addition of a fresh player, pushing their sound into its most inspired era yet. The band is currently in the studio crafting new material that captures who they are right now: tight, loud, honest, and unafraid to hit hard.
Nick Gilmore & The Converts are a dark, moody fusion of alt-country, hard-edged rock and poetry- a distinctive sound that they’ve dubbed Gothic- Americana. Haunting organ, reverb soaked guitars and a chugging acoustic rhythm serve as the perfect foundation for songwriter Nick Gilmore’s lyrics that delve into themes of desolation, spirituality, heartbreak, and salvation. They’ve brought their energetic and raw live performances to many of Toronto’s famed music venues and strive to bring the same organic quality to the studio. To date they have released a four song EP and several singles. Their most recent song ‘First Water Diamond’ is a perfect embodiment of the band’s atmospheric sound and Nick Gilmore’s lyrical artistry, it is available on all streaming services January 16.
Born in the bars and basements of Toronto, The Young Scones have been making a loud, unapologetic noise since early 2022. Fusing razor-sharp riffs, stomping rhythms, and snarling hooks, the band delivers a raw brand of rock ‘n’ roll that’s as infectious as it is unfiltered. Their sound pulls from the glory days of The Beatles, The Clash, The Pixies, and T. Rex, while nodding to the modern grit of BRMC, Jack White, and Arctic Monkeys — all filtered through a distinct Toronto attitude.
