How can research help to address some of the most pressing public health challenges facing Newcastle's residents? How can researchers and local authority public health specialists work together to identify and generate evidence that informs local policy, improves services and reduces health inequalities?
Join HDRC Newcastle and Fuse for an interactive workshop exploring Newcastle City Council's Public Health Areas of Research Interest (ARIs). The ARIs identify priority topics where research can support decision making and create meaningful impact for local communities. This event offers a unique opportunity to connect with colleagues from across academia and practice, gain insights into the Council's public health priorities, and help shape future collaborative research activity.
Through a series of interactive sessions, participants will learn about the development of the ARIs, explore examples of research informing local public health action, and work together to generate ideas for future projects. You'll have the opportunity to network with researchers and practitioners, identify shared interests and expertise, discuss evidence gaps, and explore potential funding and partnership opportunities that could help turn ideas into action.
This workshop is open to academic researchers, public health practitioners, policy colleagues, and anyone interested in developing collaborative research that addresses locally identified public health priorities. Whether you are already working in these areas or looking to establish new partnerships, this event will help you to make connections, develop ideas and explore opportunities to work with HDRC Newcastle and Newcastle City Council in the future.
