About this Event
What does your instructor actually mean when they say “engage your core,” “tuck your pelvis,” or “squeeze your glutes”?
You’ve probably heard these cues a hundred times in barre class, but do you actually know what they’re asking your body to do?
Dr. Megan Hellenthal from Boundless Health & Wellness will be walking through an interactive, hands-on workshop designed to take the guesswork out of some of the most common cues you hear in class.
We’ll break down core engagement and glute activation into three simple questions: What does the cue mean? Why does it matter? And how do you actually do it?
Through guided movement and practical exercises, you’ll learn how to identify and engage the intended muscles, recognize common compensation patterns, and better understand how your core and glutes work together to support your movement. You’ll have the opportunity to practice each concept, ask questions, and develop a better understanding of what proper muscle engagement feels like in your own body.
Whether you’re brand new to barre or have been taking classes for years, you’ll walk away with practical tools to move more intentionally, feel more confident in your technique, and get more out of every rep, pulse, and hold.
Come ready to move, learn, and finally know your cues!
