In this class participants will learn the basic terminology of knitting, including stitch types, actions, and pattern abbreviations. The class will provide hands-on practice time starting a pattern by casting on, and practice with the basic stitches, knit, and purl. We will talk about the basic techniques for finishing a project by casting off. The goal is for participants to leave knowing how to read a beginner pattern and how to select the right pattern, yarn, and needles for a participant's skill level.
