Class Description
In this class we will forge, file, heat treat, and sharpen a small blacksmith’s knife using only a piece of high-carbon steel, hand tools, and first principles.
Students will leave the class having made an all-steel one piece “blacksmith’s knife” suitable for cooking, cutting, and everyday use.
Techniques covered will include: straightening, tapering, drawing out and beveling high carbon steel, filing a knife to it’s final shape, quenching, tempering, and finally, sharpening.
The materials fee for this class is $12. This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class. This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor accepts Venmo.

If you take her classes, you must have a high tolerance for corny puns, and strange tangents and stories that are actually extremely relevant to the topic at hand.
