Mercury nominated Newcastle jazz-fusion band Knats head to Arts Club Cambridge!Known for pioneering their own genre “Geordie Jazz”, their music blends high-energy jazz fusion with drum ‘n’ bass, punk intensity, electronic influences, and danceable grooves with “jaw-dropping brilliance” (Jazzwise)
The Phil Stevenson Trio play original music rooted in funk and influenced by melodic guitar styles from Senegal to Zimbabwe. Blending these influences with the warmth of the Hammond organ and a vintage snare backbeat, the trio features Oscar Reynolds on drums and David Ferris on organ. This show will be the launch of their new EP 'Marva', from which the first single, 'Catfish', is a tribute to the James Brown/Funkadelic guitarist Phelps Collins. The gig will be recorded and feature new material that pushes the organ trio in different directions.
