PARTITŪROS – POPIERIUJE, PATIRTYS – VISAM GYVENIMUI!Gruodžio 12 d. 19 val. Vilniaus universiteto Šv. Jonų bažnyčioje susitiks šimtai klasikinės muzikos entuziastų. Keturioliktą kartą rengiamas VU Kultūros centro muzikinis edukacinis projektas „Klasika visiems“ kvies drauge atlikti vieną žymiausių Antonio Vivaldi sakralinių kūrinių – „Gloria“.
„Klasika visiems“ – tai galimybė tapti atlikėju vienai dienai. Projekte gali dalyvauti visi, pažįstantys natas ir turintys dainavimo patirties. Kartu su Vilniaus universiteto chorais „Gaudeamus“, „Pro Musica“ ir „Virgo“, VU Kameriniu orkestru bei profesionaliais solistais jie rengiasi bendram koncertui, kuriame skirtingų kartų, profesijų ir patirčių žmones suvienija muzika.
PROGRAMA
Koncertą pradės VU kamerinis orkestras (meno vadovas ir dirigentas M. Jankūnas), atliksiantis Makso Richterio 2012 m. rekompozicijos pagal Antonio Vivaldi „Metų laikus“ dalis „Ruduo“ ir „Žiema“. Solo partijomis išsiskirs orkestro smuikininkės Alejandra Belandria ir Kornelija Sakalauskaitė. Minimalizmo elementais praturtinta Richterio interpretacija leidžia naujai išgirsti daugiau kaip 300 metų skaičiuojantį baroko muzikos šedevrą.
Ši instrumentinė įžanga taps įvadu į pagrindinį vakaro kūrinį – Antonio Vivaldi „Gloria“ (RV 589).
Scenoje susijungs projekto dalyviai, VU Kamerinis orkestras bei trys VU chorai – „Gaudeamus“, „Pro Musica“ ir „Virgo“ (meno vadovė ir dirigentė R. Gelgotienė). Chorų ir orkestro atliekamą muziką papildys solisčių Guntos Gelgotės (sopranas) ir Noros Petročenko (mecosopranas) balsai. Diriguos Rasa Gelgotienė.
Antonio Vivaldi „Gloria“ istorija prasideda XVIII a.

MUSIC ON PAGES – MEMORIES FOR AGES!
On 12 December at 7:00 p.m., hundreds of classical music enthusiasts will gather at Vilnius University’s St John’s Church. For the fourteenth time, the VU Culture Centre’s musical education project “Classics for All” will invite participants to perform one of Antonio Vivaldi’s best-known sacred works, Gloria, together.
“Classics for All” offers the opportunity to become a performer for one day. Anyone who can read sheet music and has singing experience is welcome to participate. Together with the Vilnius University choirs “Gaudeamus”, “Pro Musica” and “Virgo”, the VU Chamber Orchestra and professional soloists, participants prepare for a joint concert that brings together people of different generations, professions and backgrounds through music.
PROGRAMME
The concert will begin with a performance by the VU Chamber Orchestra, led by its artistic director and conductor, Modestas Jankūnas, featuring the movements “Autumn” and “Winter” from Max Richter’s 2012 recomposition of Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. The solo parts will be performed by the orchestra’s violinists Alejandra Belandria and Kornelija Sakalauskaitė. Enriched with elements of minimalism, Richter’s interpretation offers a fresh perspective on a Baroque masterpiece composed more than 300 years ago.
This instrumental introduction will lead into the main work of the evening – Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria (RV 589).
On stage, project participants will come together with the VU Chamber Orchestra and three VU choirs – “Gaudeamus”, “Pro Musica” and “Virgo”, led by their artistic director and conductor Rasa Gelgotienė. The choirs and orchestra will be joined by soloists Gunta Gelgotė (soprano) and Nora Petročenko (mezzo-soprano). The performance will be conducted by Rasa Gelgotienė.
The story of Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria begins in eighteenth-century Venice, where the composer worked at the Ospedale della Pietà, an institution for the care and musical education of girls renowned for its orchestra and choir. It is believed that Vivaldi composed Gloria for the institution’s students. The work consists of twelve contrasting movements: the majestic sound of the choir gives way to intimate solo passages, while energetic rhythms alternate with slow, contemplative melodies. After a long period of obscurity, Gloria was publicly performed again in Siena, Italy, in 1939. Nearly three centuries after its composition, this music will be heard by audiences in Vilnius at “Classics for All”.

________
A TRADITION WORTH RETURNING TO
The project began in 2012, when Rasa Gelgotienė, artistic director of the VU choirs, conductor and educator, brought her idea to life: gathering people who love classical music to perform a large-scale musical work together. The idea came to her during a visit to San Francisco, where the experience of making music together inspired her to establish a similar tradition in Vilnius.
Over fourteen editions, the project has featured Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem, Antonio Vivaldi’s Magnificat, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Ola Gjeilo’s Sunrise Mass, Camille Saint-Saëns’ Requiem and Christmas Oratorio, as well as other classical works. “Classics for All” has become more than a concert: it is an annual gathering that many singers look forward to and return to year after year.
A new score, new voices and a familiar sense of togetherness each time – this is the tradition that “Classics for All” has become.
