About this Event
Kiroto Coffee - Harvested By Heritage
From Root to Roast is an intimate coffee tasting, cultural workshop, and plant-based supper club celebrating the journey of Kiroto Coffee from Ugandan soil to the diaspora table.
This immersive evening explores coffee not simply as a drink, but as heritage, agriculture, resistance, and ritual.
Founded by George, a Ugandan coffee farm owner and curator of Kiroto Coffee, this experience invites guests into the story behind the bean — from cultivation and harvest to roasting and brewing. Through guided tasting, storytelling, and interactive learning, guests will explore:
• The African origins of coffee
• The journey from farm to cup
• Differences in bean aroamas and roast profiles
• The health and cultural significance of coffee
• How African coffee shaped global coffee culture
The workshop element includes a guided tasting of Ugandan and Ethiopian coffees, where guests will learn how to identify body, acidity, aroma, and flavour notes.
The evening then transitions into a two-course African-Caribbean x Afro-Brazilian plant-based supper, thoughtfully curated to complement the tasting experience. Each dish is designed to enhance and balance the complexity of the coffee.
This is not just a tasting.
It is a sensory journey.
A conversation between soil, story, and diaspora.
Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase Kiroto Coffee directly and continue supporting African-owned coffee at its source.
