A gentle, creative workshop for adults living with a meningioma. Explore your experience through creativity
About this Event

About the Workshop:

A creative and therapeutic workshop designed for individuals living with meningioma. This session invites participants to explore and express their experiences through clay sculpting and photography. Guided by professional artists and facilitators, participants will connect with their emotional and physical journey, creating artwork that reflects the invisible challenges and triumphs of living with a brain tumor.

Through a series of hands-on exercises, you will:

  • Shape and mould clay as a way to express the textures, pressures, and sensations that come with living with meningioma.
  • Stamp words that capture your feelings, thoughts, and experiences into the clay — a tactile and symbolic act of bringing language to life.
  • Create abstract forms and symbols that reflect how you relate to your body, health, and resilience.
  • Work with light and shadow to capture the depth and emotion of your work through photography, transforming simple materials into a powerful visual story.

The workshop provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your emotions and connect with others who understand. No previous art experience is necessary — just bring your openness and a willingness to explore.

At the end of the workshop, your clay creations and photographs will be part of an exhibition, which highlights the experiences of those living with meningioma. Your work will be displayed alongside others, contributing to a larger narrative of resilience and awareness.

What to Expect:

  • A welcoming environment for self-expression and connection
  • Personal guidance from experienced facilitators and artists
  • Time to reflect, create, and share your story through art
  • Materials provided (clay, stamps, photography tools)
  • Opportunity to be part of an exhibition that celebrates the diverse lived experiences of those with a meningioma
