About this Event
Discover Kinusaiga, a beautiful Japanese-inspired fabric art technique that transforms colorful fabric into a textured mosaic—without sewing! This class uses colorful cotton prints and patterns for a fresh, modern take on the craft.
Create your own 6x6-inch artwork with your choice of two designs: Good Morning Sunshine, featuring a cheerful sun rising over rolling hills, or Pumpkin, a charming seasonal favorite. Both patterns feature generously sized sections, making this class a comfortable and enjoyable introduction for beginners.
You’ll choose from an assortment of colorful fabrics, cut each piece to fit your design, and use a simple plastic tool to gently press the edges into the prepared grooves. Each base is carefully prepared before class so you can focus on learning the technique and bringing your design to life. With so many possible fabric combinations, every finished piece will be uniquely yours!
All materials and supplies are provided. But you’re also welcome to bring fabric from home—perhaps a favorite print or fabric from a meaningful item such as a tie, shirt, or other keepsake—to make your artwork even more personal. Lightweight, non-stretch fabric works best.
