The repair is the point.
Kintsugi is a five-hundred-year-old Japanese practice. Instead of hiding where a bowl broke, you fill the cracks with gold. The piece becomes more valuable because of what happened to it, not in spite of it.
Two hours, your own piece of ceramic to break and rebuild. Nobody has to be good at it. You go home with something you’ll actually keep.
A drink in hand, meet the room.
First drink poured as you walk in. We talk you through the history, the materials and what you’re about to make. No pressure. The only skill required is a willingness to break something on purpose.
Break it deliberately.
Every guest gets their own piece. You break it in a controlled way, lay the pieces out, and start to see where the joins will go. This is the bit people worry about, and the bit everyone enjoys most.
Rebuild it with gold.
Working on your own piece, you glue the breaks and finish the joins in gold. The glue sets in about five minutes, so you move at your own pace. Watching the gold catch the light the first time is the moment people reach for their phones.
Take it home.
Final set, a last drink, photos of the room. You leave with your piece boxed and ready to travel. Decorative only. It’s not food-safe, but it looks beautiful on a shelf.
