About this Event
We are delighted to invite you and your child to our Post-16 Open Evening on Thursday 19th November 2026, from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.
As your child approaches the end of Year 11, this is an important time to explore the opportunities available to them after completing their GCSEs. Our Open Evening will provide an opportunity to find out more about our Post-16 provision, the courses we offer and the support available to students as they take their next steps in education and beyond.
During the evening, staff from all the subjects offered at Post-16 will be available to discuss their courses, answer questions and provide guidance on subject choices and entry requirements. There will also be a series of talks from our Acting Headteacher, Head of Sixth Form and members of the Student Leadership Team, who will share their perspectives on sixth form life, academic expectations and the wider student experience.
You will also have the opportunity to visit our Post-16 Centre, allowing you and your child to explore the facilities and gain a better understanding of the environment in which our sixth form students learn and study.
In addition to our subject provision, we will have information available on a range of opportunities and pathways, including:
- Post-18 pathways: university, apprenticeships and employment.
- Student support: information about the 16–19 Bursary and the financial support available to eligible students.
- Enrichment opportunities: including the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), home languages and volunteering.
- Life beyond the classroom: opportunities to develop new skills, broaden experiences and prepare for future study and employment.
We want every student to feel informed, supported and confident when making decisions about their future. The evening will be an excellent opportunity for you and your child to speak directly with staff, explore the options available, visit our Post-16 Centre and gain a clearer understanding of what life in our sixth form can offer.
We strongly encourage all Year 11 students and their parents and carers to attend, as we look forward to helping you explore the next stage of your child’s educational journey.
