Join Us for the 2027 Legislative Forum

The King County Developmental Disabilities and Delays Legislative Forum brings together individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and delays, family members, advocates, and policymakers to discuss issues that matter to our communities.
Your presence, voice, and lived experience help shape policies that affect our community.
At this year's forum, you'll:
- Learn about King County's 2027 legislative priorities
- Hear successes and challenges from a community panel
- Connect with Washington State legislators and learn about their priorities
Schedule
6:00–7:00 PM – Doors open; coffee, tea, and cookies available
6:00–6:55 PM – Optional connection time with legislators - NEW! More time!
7:00–8:30 PM – Forum
NEW THIS YEAR: Metro Shuttle Service!
Based on community feedback, Metro will provide a shuttle to help you make the last leg of your journey to the Forum if you’re traveling by public transit. The shuttle will operate in both directions between the Forum and two key transit stops:
- Tukwila International Boulevard Station - Bay 3 (light rail)
- Andover Park W & Baker Blvd - Bay 1 (outside the mall)
- DoubleTree Hotel (Forum)
The trip from these stops to the Forum will take approximately 15–20 minutes. The shuttle costs the same as a regular Metro fare or transfer.
If you’re interested in using the shuttle, please indicate this on the registration form. Registration for the shuttle is encouraged but not required. We’ll send additional information to those who indicate they may use the service.
Good to Know
- Expanded Parking: Additional parking will be available in nearby lots. More information will be provided before the event.
- In-Person Gathering: This year's forum will be held in person only. A recording will be shared afterward for those who cannot attend.
- Family Room: Enjoy a live viewing of the forum in a smaller, family-friendly space with toys and snacks available.
- Quiet Room: A quiet, low-sensory space will be available for anyone who needs a break from the activity.
- Accommodations & Language Access: We want everyone to participate. Please use the registration form to request accommodations, interpreters, or other language access supports.
